Hi all, A possible proposition. I have a 1972 blue 2002 targa in need of lots of TLC. Mainly bodywork (all usual targa issues). The car has been in storage for 10 years and is partially dismantled due to a failed restoration attempt (what was i thinking when i looked at the car all those years ago and thought 'i can restore this' - it was always destined to fail!). I've had some quotes from various 'well known' BMW 2002 restorers and the potential cost was astronomical. (i could buy 3 already restored cars for the cost of restoring my one). But i DO want to get MY car back to at least a road worthy MOT'ed runner. So my thoughts. Is there any home DIY restorers out there that have the space, time, skill, ability and desire to take on my car as a restoration project? I would of course be willing to pay the person for their skills, materials and whatever is needed, but hopefully at a cost that is lower than 'professional' restorers and acceptable to all parties. There will be no time stipulations, so it could be restored over an extended period (its been waiting over 10 years so another few wouldn't make much difference). If any serious parties are interested please let me know asap and we can discuss details. As a last resort i may break the car, but I'd rather sell the wife. If anyone has any thoughts, please let me know. regards Erasmo
