Hi 02'ers,
Here's a few pictures of the almost completed s14 engine that will go into the 2002tii chassis. Its been an uphill task to get this far and I now finally have my sights set on completion. Target complete is for Gaydon '09.

Looks very nice, must be a tight squeeze getting it under an 02 bonnet though!! Glad to see its coming together now, best of luck with it.

Hi jon, The simple answer is no because I have very few photos of the chassis as its still being built. I can tell you that its having the Alpina arches in metal with modified rear inner arches too. The inner sill sections have been boxed to strengthen the bodyshell and the front chassis legs have also been boxed were they meet the floor pan. The transmission tunnel will be widen to take the Getrag 265 gearbox that look factory new since its rebuild. finally i'm removing the roof skin and transplanting a roof skin without a sunroof. The car will look like a BMW 2002tii Alpina without the black knee line trim.
I thought you had to use a modified 2002 sump ?
You would be better off using a standard 2002 tii engine and getting that one shipped to me !

Thank Pete, yes will be a little tight. All the wiring loomb relays, ECU etc will be hiden under the dash. The aim is to keep the engine bay very minimal which is why i've done away with all the distributor parts.

You can certainly use the 2002 sump but you still have to baffle it and you have issues with capacity and oil starvation problems if you go on track. I've gone the Grp A sump route which will be better all round, track use and road. I designed that sump myself using Grp A sump photos and Swindon Racing fabricated it. The quality of their work on the engine is A+++. To give you an idea, my engine is being built along side F1 R&D work that Swindon Racing undertake and some of it rubbed off on the engine in the shape of the Coil on plug conversion using Bosch Motorsport coils so now the engine will run sequential spark and injection.
That’s a fantastic looking engine and a beautiful sump, but who told you you’d get oil starvation and capacity issues on a track if you used a baffled m10 sump? Ian Dickerson was one of the first to build an m2 and ran an m10 sump on his track car for over 10 years without an oil cooler and didn’t have any issues.
