I like the back end in black - used to do this on the old MK1 Escorts. Those were the days..........
Anyone that can help see below;
Movie company need an '02 from early '70s for a shoot in Leeds for one day a week from next week to end Oct. The "but" is that it must NOT be white, red, blue or other bright colour - they want "bland" so brown etc or perhaps black at a pinch.
Could you liase with the guy ( 01663 751057 0771 475 0508) but let me know who will be doing it please. Fuel etc will be paid for.

What's your trim spec Kev, early or late steering wheel, indicators on the left or right stalk, late steel rims or early, black or chrome rear quarter window mechanisms, late binnacles (with a cross through them), What's the year stamped on your head?
Cos yours has the early front but is a later car, I wonder which other early/late parts BMW mixed on the production line??
Depending how much is original of course.

Hi all,
An update on my targa restoration. Over the weekend, for the first time in 17 years, i got the engine started - and it sounded alright! Unfortunately, it only ran for about 30 seconds then died. On inspection the carb was full to the brim with petrol and was leaking badly from lower around the carb body - somewhere?. Me thinks, the carb could do with new gaskets and a bit of tlc.
Does anyone know where to get the rebuild kit for this carb - Solex 36-40 PDSI single?
Also, if there are any obvious wear areas i should check out for whilst i have the thing apart?
As always, any help much appreciated.
Regards
Try www.wallothnesch.com for starters Franc. Email Alex if you can't find what you need on the website.
I'm sure other folks will have suggestions for you also.

I thought about it for a long time Kev. Its funny because a friends father who ran a BMW dealership in Denmark in the 1970's had a white Touring and did exactly the same to his car from new. I guess it does look 'period'. What is you chassis number Kev? Mines 3440240. So it's the 240th made. I've also owned numbers 242 - 511 - 26 - and a couple of others I don't recall off the top of my head.

Call them then - make sure it's got one of my window stickers in it. ;o)
If you haven't already entered - you're too late. But that doesn't stop you watching the action. I am starting from Dorking at 09:49 & all routes end up at Silverstone Race Circuit. So why not come & watch all the classics this Sunday. For more info & routes check out:

It was fully booked in 3 weeks, so if you fancy it next year get in quick.
Keep 02ing.
PS. I still need a 2002 Tii in SE England for photo shoot in BMW Car with an Alfa for the 20th Oct. See this board for the details.

Richard, I am starting in Bath at 9.30am (with the Alpina) and assuming she doesn't 'do a turbo'on me (the technical term for 'break down') I will see you at Silverstone in the afternoon.
