Hi Sean,
You could make one fit, but you might have sump issues as the E21 sump will not clear an 02 crossmember. I know that the mounting bolts are in different positions, the 02 uses 6 bolts and the E21 only 4.
There are also the issues of locating the suspension arms, anti roll bar and brake reaction bars, but nothing that could be overcome I guess.
I am building up an E21 rally car at the moment, so will check out the critical bits and pieces and drop you an email.

Has anyone ever tried to fit an E21 cross member into an 02??
The steering rack bits would not be a problem
Do the chassis legs fit would be more important to know
