I've got a Tii that i've been restoring now for some 8 years, I now that the money i've spent on it will never see a good return but its all about hearts and mind. Continue with the project sounds like you are not far from completion...

 I really appreciate your advice and to be honest it's what I hope to do. With a bit of luck I may be able to complete the job as I have someone interested in a mint E21 323i that I am selling. Just out of interest are you in the Gravesend area and if so who's good for bodywork,painting,welding (minimal amount). I am in Eltham but have a small ind.unit in Dartford.
