Hi, You're right, the buckets are the same but the lenses throw a different light pattern on low beam. They don't interchange from side to side, so you need both a left and a right hand unit. I sent some to a friend on your side of the pond a few years ago and they worked fine. Unfortunately, they're becoming a rare item. Also, the mounting studs have a tendency to rust and break off requiring that new ones be welded on. I recommend installing them with 'Never-Seez' and nyloc nuts. Hope this helps. Bob Snow

Hi Kev I don't think so, the buckets seem to
be universal and I'm fairly certain that its the glass
(lens) patern that determines LH or RHD. Regards Mike-----

replaced the headlights on my '71 (pre – 71) 2002 with
American headlight buckets which will take conventional UK
light units. There is a bit of fiddling around but the
result is excellent lights. The uints I fitted are
Cibie's fitted with halogen bulbs. I'm not sure if
there is a difference in the fittings of the various type of
grille's, mine is the early all alloy type. I could take
some photos if you want to try my mod, let me
know.RegardsMike www.jigluhood.com – communities that

for LHD being from the states?? Found this site which is
really cheap compared to UK but the beam would be wrong.

be altered?? No virus found in this incoming
