I finally got round to e-mailing MT last night and got the following in reply today:
Dear Mr Lamprell,
BMW 2002 rhd # 4201163 was manufactured on January 21, 1974 and delivered on February 4, 1974 to the BMW importer in Hong Kong.
The original colour was Inka, paint code 022.
So our amazement at the speed with which cars were delivered after manufacture can continue, 2 weeks from completion to HK is pretty good.
