Hi damon,
Does this happen when the engine is cold or hot? And how long has it been doing it?
Check the points gap to make sure they have not closed up. Also check to see if the cold start valve (when the engine is cold) is poking out of the housing at the back of the pump and then again when the engine is hot.
If you want to do any idle adjustments, restrict it to the 6mm bolt that is on the side of the housing at the top of the throttle assembly. Screw it in until the revs are around 900/950rpm when hot.
Do what you feel with the cold start valve in relation to time ie 1-2 secs.
When setting up the injection, the critical adjustments are done when the engine is hot and the cold running adjustments are very basic.
Cheers,
John.
