Good places to look for '02s

12 messages

Tried to buy a guys '02 here in Ireland, and then decided that I just didn't like the color enough (orange). Now decided that I want one, and the UK is a much better market. Can you tell me any and all ways to find a good one?

– websites
– magazines
– agents

etc.

Thanks
Ed

Hi Ed

Richard has a cars for sale listing on his website www.bmw2002.co.uk, we (Jaymic) also run a cars for sale list but I think his is rather more up to date. Other than that there's always a few on Ebay, but I'd advise viewing before commiting to buy as people's ideas of what is "in perfect working" order seems to vary hugely from one person to the next!

Also try in the back of magazines like "Classic and Sports Car", "Total BMW" and "BMW Car", always lots up for grabs there.

Well Ideally I would like a 2002 tii but I am happy with any most any 2002 touring or otherwise.
I dont want a convertible.
Has to be RHD.
and has to be manual.

Thanks
Ed

i bought mine off ebay, without even seeing it... i know, i know it was crazy but i was lucky and didnt get a complete shed.

I've won a few on ebay and refused to buy once seen in
the metal. Not as described even though I'd gone to
great lengths by email and phone to quiz the vendors.
There are good viable projects/cars out there its just
a matter of sorting the wheat from the chaff. Be lucky
and don't buy something your not 100% happy with. I
always take an indifferent friend to be my reality
check!

There's quite a difference in price between a 2002
touring standard 02 and Tii in A plus conditions.
