Damon your car was UK registered on 02 Feb 72 right? According to the RHD Chassis numbers they run from model '71.

I looked into this when converting to an e21 steering rack – it won’t work, and as John says the e21 suspension is very different to an 02.

I think I'm right in saying if it was a Shrick or Alpina (?) it would be stamped accordingly. I know it doesn't help identify it but BMW factory options back in period...
